Windows Client Guidance against speculative execution vulnerabilities

I will not post it. Also some guy at MDL wrote some kind of script to activate it. I think that has been posted here.
Totally respect your choice. After all, maybe it's not a good idea to post it here on "tenforums".

I've a few old laptops that are virtually susceptible to Spectre. As for a two year old HP laptop not showing for a UEFI/bios upgrade in their list is disappointing to say the least. Always bought HP for myself so this wasn't expected. Posted a query on their forums yesterday and the silence is deafening. When I queried for the Intel firmware update had a reply almost instantly.
Just had a reply from the forums that my Laptop was not listed as is already protected. Hmmm. See how it goes as replied with two images,
and
No UEFI bios update being offered up to now,

Getting way out of my depth here but does the above mean my motherboard doesn't have a chip to support TPM? Device manager shows a key logo and suggests installing the hardware?

I have read that TPM is a security risk.

Thanks Josey but an old thread. Not a bad idea that TPM chip is missing then. BIOS shows enable by default but device manager shows hardware missing.

Reason: rethink.

My MOBO has a slot to install one, but it is not needed, to use encryption. If your BIOS show it enabled, I would change that since it does not exist.

Weird how HP works with their own mobos but will persevere within their forums first before I decide. Many thanks for your input, much appreciated.
