I think the only 'old' AMD CPU I have is on a WinXP computer in my storage shed.
Well one of my test PCs is an "old AMD" and i'm getting exactly the problem described in that link.
    As it says:

Despite being older machines, the CPUs date from about the mid-to-late 2000s, users say their PCs were running Windows 10 without issue before installing the update.
After installing the update users say their PCs are unable to boot and eventually get stuck in an endless loop, as they try to roll back to an earlier version of the OS

I'm hoping that another Cumulative update will fix that - meanwhile I've imaged that PC back to the FCU (16299.15)
    We shall see.....

My AMD Phenom II which is pretty ancient now, not affected by the update, so guess any Phenom II users should be OK.

I maintain two old AMD based PCs, have this problem and have blocked the update for now as explained here Hide or Show Windows Updates in Windows 10

Windows update says I'm all up to date and no issues that I'm aware of. KB4056892 shows as installed.

I think we need clarity from official sources. Has the WU fix solved the problem or do we also need updates from the PC supplier or motherboard supplier. I might have a long wait in the latter case since I have a Gigabyte motherboard.
I'm afraid Gigabyte has addressed the situation already see here....GIGABYTE Implements Safety Measures Against Intel ME And TXE Security Vulnerabilities | News - GIGABYTE Global

I maintain two Gigabyte based PCs from 2003. The GIGABYTE Intel ME Critical FW Update Utility shows neither PC needs an update which I already knew from running Intel's utility. There is no sign of Gigabyte offering to update the BIOS of their five year old motherboards.

I also noticed that my Z77 mobo has not had an BIOS update since 2014 (17b Beta).

Yeah cannot see them updateing BIOS for my 2012 board either.
