Hello. Today received an update KB4056892, installed it, but WU history says it failed with code 0x80070643. However in the system information my build is now 16299.192. When i select Check for Updates there are no updates available. So the update is installed fine actually?
read the very 1st post again. it's listed in the table of known issues

oddly i had a bit of an issue doing someone else's rubbish machine.. it froze (the dots spinning round a circle not spinning at all) at update 100%, do not shut down, blah... obviously we did just that and rebooted after a few minutes.. seemed ok afterwards... high cpu/disk utilization but could have been like that before... because it's a piece of acer celeron crap that came with some search engine hijacking stuff XD

The problem with that is it a cumulative update so you are going to have to block all other cumulative updates so your system will never be updated again.

But we know AMD are working with MS on the problem so we should be able to unblock the updates hopefully soon.

It does however illustrate a serious failing with cumulative updates.

Keith.....and goes a bit deeper. This should get pretty interesting around 10:00a.m. PT (MS, Redmond).....

    Excerpt:

All users, regardless of CPU type, may experience a BSOD after installing the Meltdown and Spectre patches if they use an unsupported third-party antivirus program. Yesterday, Microsoft announced it would not deploy Windows security updates at all to devices running incompatible antivirus software.
The January 2018 Patch Tuesday security updates are scheduled for release later today.

Yes, fortunately I've had no problems with this update on either my Win10 or my old Win7 system.

Any new cumulative update hit today yet? Or is it possible the emergency patch issued last week brought today’s intended cumulative update forward.
