    1. The update slowed down noticeably my new I7 based Asus system.

    2. Thrashed my ElsaWIn Audi service manual program, permissions not granted error, tried everything and no fix.

    3. Disabled 2 drivers.

Probably other issues, I rolled back to my previous backup, and everything is fine again. Disabled Win10 auto-updates until maybe MS fixes this update.

I am aware of that, but until this update, I have not had a single update delayed since the day that Windows 10 was released. I have also seen the usual reports of problems; I suffered greatly from the December 2017 Cumulative Update, which I suspect caused the corruption of my Windows 10 User Profile, and very bad problems with the earliest releases of Windows 10.
I guess you could always uninstall MBAM, reboot and scan for updates just to see, but that’s a lot of trouble.

Just create a restore point, go to MS’s update catalog and manually download/install.

No problems here on an HP dc7800 SFF desktop.

In the USA people make a living out of suing companies for any reason no matter how small, they do it as a normal job :)

So, therefore I can assume that there are no class action suites filed in Great Britain at all? That there are no ambulance chasers there neither?

One Way to make sure you are going to get the update is to verify this registry key:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat

    Cumulative Update KB4056892 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.192-quality-compact-registry.png

Once you find the QualityCompact (numbered callout 1 in my screenshot above), see in the right pane if you have those values (numbered callout 2 in screenshot). If you don't have them, you won't be receiving this update.

I still can't see the update in auto-update. Even Avast free AV updated that registry key that is needed. Should I wait or install from the catalog?

There is no harm trying to get the update from Microsoft Update Catalog. Worst or best case scenario (depending on how you see it), it won't install or even you might get a warning from MS saying that this update is not for you machine or something in the genre..

If you really want the update then install from the Catalog. I did it that way with no problems.

Avast Forum even suggested getting it from the Update Catalog, as a lot of Avast users unable to see It from Windows update, despite Avast did add the registry key, some users went as far as to uninstall the program entirely, and upon restart update showed up on Windows update (I'm one of the uninstaller crowd lol) despite probably didn't have to go that far lol
