Updated my wife's computer without any problem yesterday, but my computer keeps telling me that it is up-to-date when I check for updates, and, thus, I have not received this KB. I wonder why (not just about the KB, but everything else...).

My MalwareBytes is the same as on the other computer, and I did check the registry to ascertain if the required entry to allow this KB to install had been setup; it had, so that is not blocking the update for my machine.

They’re probably staggering this release. Be patient.

Kb4056892 installed and trying to reinstall continuously

According to Control Panel, Programs & Features, Installed updates KB4056892 was installed on 1-6-18.

Update And Security says KB4056892 installed successfully on 1-5-18. It also says the same KB requires a restart to finish installing. If I restart it attempts install and then says "we cannot complete the updates - reverting.
Look at Update & Security again and it says KB4056892 installed on 1-5-18.

    Winver reports 16299.125

Only use Windows Defender on the system.

KB4056892 stuck in continuous loop trying to install even though Installed Updates says it is installed.

Not sure what to do at this point but I think I will wait for patch Tuesday to see if this gets resolved

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Interestingly undoing the Spybot Anti-Beacon telemetry blocks let the 16299.192 update come thru via Windows Update.
Never had that happen before with an update not coming thru/being blocked due to Spybot Anti-Beacon.

Update downloaded and installed. Immunized my system again with Spybot Anti-Beacon

I have no choice but to be patient; I posted mainly to find out if there were, for example, any news about staggered release, as I have not seen any such. If that be true, it would be good to know.

This update came through on WU for an old AMD based PC. The update downloads and installs and then hangs on restart. It does the same when I do a manual update. I then have to run Automatic Repair. How do I block this update?

Edit: Finished on that system finally, restarting now, and flew think done with system updates for the moment lol, yesterday spent a while redoing older Windows 7 Little Desktop, and sorta sick of seeing Windows update window lol for the moment, sticks to Desktop and laptop and gets a few things done lol

Updates not showing up isn’t anything new. They almost always work themselves out. This is a significant patch. I’m speculating they’re being cautious.

MS absolutely sucks as QC these days, so I wouldn’t be in a big hurry if I were you. On this board alone people have reported problems related to this patch being installed.

Don't forget to check the related tutorials at the bottom of each.

I am aware of that, but until this update, I have not had a single update delayed since the day that Windows 10 was released. I have also seen the usual reports of problems; I suffered greatly from the December 2017 Cumulative Update, which I suspect caused the corruption of my Windows 10 User Profile, and very bad problems with the earliest releases of Windows 10.
