    Hi,

Perhaps parts of the CPU could be made like an FPGA?
Parts of it already are and that's what raised some of these security issues lately. Think MEI/AMT, TPM's etc.

I'm not really sure we're talking about the same thing.

    Hi,

Let's just say it doesn't really matter ? I do know a bit of electronics, I designed quite a a few things for the industry myself. Bottom line being, your idea isn't a practical one and it's not going to make anything more secure. Surely you must be aware of that ?

So just to be clear, you see absolutely no benefit, security related or otherwise to a proposed processor with an architecture that’s completely reprogrammable?

Still WU does not show it. Is it essential to download and update.

Getting the same here with Windows Update not offering the update. I think it has been pulled for the time being due to various problems?

This update seems to have been released in a rush, which may account for some of us not seeing it. I had to jump through hoops to make my machines see this update through Windows Update.

As 'Patch Tuesday' is just a few days away I'd say wait until then and see if the next update is seen properly by WU. It will, after all, contain all the fixes from this one.

My newer laptop that I didn't get the specs entered on yet on here, to see the update I had to remove Avast Antivirus, clean it all out, and then after restart Defender update, then update came down, Desktop I installed manually from catalog, didn't feel like uninstalling Avast yet

But I think I did solve the laptops first issue shutting down on its own, thinking surge protector was cause of that or software error, as hasn't done it again since
