Had two KB's 4056892 and 4058702. The latter is not shown in view installed updates but, is shown in uninstall updates. No info on that KB on MS's website, update catalogue say's critical and the file size is approx 13Mb.

I take it that you all have this KB.

Success thru Windows Update on my Release Preview physical OS. Same box/hardware/etc. Virtually identical to FCU. Now I'll try another physical FCU.

Nothing showing here even after a manual update check.

I've benchmarked a very CPU intense application I use for reference by timing it running to completion during a couple of different tasks. Be interesting to compare. I'll also do a before and after winsat test, although I don't know if that will show any differences or not.

All installed. This is on a Dell Vostro laptop with i5 processor and 4Gb RAM and SSD.

My two files ran as follows.

    Before update.
    File 1 took 15.5 seconds
    File 2 took 25 seconds.

    After update.
    File 1 took 16 seconds
    File 2 took 25 seconds.

Conclusion here is no obvious performance hit.

WinSAT tests. This is before and after. Again I would say no statistical evidence saying performance is impacted. Some things are fractionally better, some fractionally worse.

Fatal loss of quality when playing video UHD HEVC with a high bitrate of more than 50 Mb / s in Daum Potplayer 1.7.7145. The difference with the morning quality and what became after installation KB4056892 is simply depressing. Grain on all surfaces. Artifacts when switching to full-screen mode when playing H264. In games, the performance is at the same level, but the quality of the picture has become approximately the same as in 16-bit games. Microsoft, Intel just robbed me. You need a new computer to buy. Probably, they specially "found out" after 10 years a vulnerability in Intel processors, in order to spur sales of new equipment. I do not doubt for a minute.
    System MSI GT60-2PE 3K edition. NVIDIA 880m 8gb Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-4800MQ CPU @ 2.70GHz
This does not sound like it is due to the cpu issue. Are you sure your drivers have not been changed?

Yes, it's happening on some processors with kernel leak bug.
Intel is trying to develop new chipset driver to fix the issue.

beats me why i'm not seeing anything yet in windows update (win10 fcu). it's not the antivirus, because the changelog says that was patched last month (probably why i couldn't find the patch notes last month either...)
just checked the registry and the entry is there, so definitly not the antivirus... uk here too.
