All installed ok. It came through windows update for both my machines. I wonder (hope!) if this is part of next weeks patch Tuesday brought forward and we won’t be getting another cumulative update then.

cannot detect any performance impact due to the kernel patch but I wonder if that will manifest itself in lower 3D mark benchmark scores such as the fire strike test

It seems a lot of people here are hot to get an update that might just slow your machine down, especially since Intel has indicated the "bug" might be no big deal. I have disabled updates on my win 7 and 8.1 machines, both with older Q6600 processors. Wish I could figure a way to stop it on my k7700 10 home system.
Intel's statement is standard PR bullshit for damage control. Other cloud vendors like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft take this issue seriously and already updated their affected system. RedHat urges their customers to update immediately.

If you read Intel's statement, they mentioned that these exploits do not have the potential to corrupt, modify, or delete data. Well, the exploits are never about data corruption dugh, they are security problems.
There's proof-of-concept of how JavaScript code run in the Google Chrome browser, allows it to read private memory, which means it can leak victim's confidential info like password, etc.

Unfortunately KB4056892 kills ASUS AISuite II tested on 5 ASUS AMD based Desktops.
After update ASUS control utilities and AISuite crashes and are not useable.
Tested uninstall of update allowed ASUS software to return to operating without issue.

You are a cannibal... and a hater. You called me dumb. You are a name caller. Shame on you... Now Because... I have seen these updates break computers before. Wisdom dictates discretion, wait and see. The term dumb is a slander to the speech impared, shame on you for using it. You are a Microsoft salt, and not worthy to answer my post. Most people will suck microsoft, and accept the update. Therefore, Hackers won't waste time on this exploit, and it will go away.
This forum does not tolerate such posts as above. It is just offensive.

Strange. My Release Preview VM got the update but it has not been offered on the host. I'm not going to push it.

Yeah, people should avoid Asus Alsuite as the plague.. Its the worst software i ever had installed on my system. It wrecks the entire installation and i had a hard time removing it and undo the changes it made.

anyway, i haven't received the update yet, i think i wait until its downloaded automatically via update center.
