It seems a lot of people here are hot to get an update that might just slow your machine down, especially since Intel has indicated the "bug" might be no big deal. I have disabled updates on my win 7 and 8.1 machines, both with older Q6600 processors. Wish I could figure a way to stop it on my k7700 10 home system.
Between getting 'hacked' or a slowdown, it's obvious which one is preferred.

No big deal for you but don't come crying if something arises on your end.

Not sure about anyone else but the update killed AI Suite 3 for ROG's Asus board... Z170
Oh? I could never get on my Ai Suite ll to install on my Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 with 1709. It did on previous builds and installs on my Insider previews starting with build 17017. Just plain weird.

Hopefully they get a fix for you soon.

Here's the real test for me. Fired up the old Intel Acer in order to get the update. After it gets done thrashing around I'll give it a go.

I'm suspecting from the error message that a new bios will be in order...Asus as always seemed to be on top of issues creating problems with their boards. Not necessarily a problem with the mobo but believe something has changed in regards to the Intel problem fix. At least the fan controller is working. Don't really notice a performance hit.

Mine is an AMD and haven't noticed any speed difference. Word is acting kind of weird. I should probably reboot.

In the mean time my Acer is downloading the update.

    Doesn't help me with a Z87.

and BTW, id you are running AISuite then you probably run Realbench. You will be in for a nasty surprise there.

Can't control my fans, perforance is sluggish, this is really F'd up.
