Does the Windows 10 patch do anything at all to mitigate the Spectre vulnerability?

Windows Update has never sent out BIOS updates. They are always handled by your Board Manufacturer or computer manufacturer. This is nothing new.
Who said anything about BIOS updates? I'm talking about intel driver updates, which WU is more than capable of delivering. And if BIOS updates are needed aswell then a large amount of users will have their PC's vulnerable.

I believe BIOS updates are required. If it was a simple driver update, no one would have been particularly concerned about this whole fiasco. We have driver updates all the time.

Ok... so, what it started to be an Intel exclusive flaw, now it's AMD and ARM too?
I don't know why, but this feels really fishy, more if now they are blaming AV software if you can't get the update...

I don't know what to believe now...

It's because the update to fix the issue via software can break AV software as it changes the kernel.

That means we need to update the AV software prior to this?

Wow. Very well put together for information to at least get some understanding, John. Yes, it does get technical fast. Like trying to understand quantum physics.

And I see you were up late to put it together. Thanks for your effort. :)
