Does anyone have this feature available yet?
One of the biggest digital challenges today is pulling together that ideal mix of apps and websites to complete everything from writing a report for work to planning a weekend getaway. Finding time to work on these things often falls into an unpredictable schedule that gets interrupted by other commitments. Oftentimes there is nothing more frustrating than pulling up files, websites, notes, and apps, only to be pulled away to something else. It can be like a never-ending game of musical chairs.
This Insider Preview build 17063 will hopefully set the stage as we try to make starting, stopping, and continuing complex tasks a painless activity with a new feature we call Sets.
The basics
Sets: With all the elements that go into a task, sometimes convincing yourself to get started is the hardest part. Sets help you keep webpages, documents, files, and apps connected, while remaining just one click away. When you close a file that includes a group of tabs, we’ll help you bring those tabs back to life the next time you open it. Whether it’s something you pick up later in the day or in a couple weeks, Sets is being designed to help you keep the important things together.
Add tabs to apps: To help fuel Sets, most apps will be able to add app and web tabs. When you select a link in something like an e-mail, it’ll open in a new tab next to the app you were using. Selecting the plus (+) in an app will take you to a new tab page, which will help you jump to your next location. You might already know where you want to go, or just need a little bit of inspiration. From here, you’ll be able to search your PC and the internet, access customized feeds, open frequently used websites and apps, and get suggestions based on your recent activity.
How you can help
This is new territory for us, so we’re excited to get your feedback from the start. Your input will play a key role in how we’ll craft this experience and we’re looking forward to seeing where this collaboration takes us.
Hit us with any opinions and suggestions about Sets that you can dream up. One of the best ways to contribute is using Quests found in the Feedback Hub. Remember that this is a controlled study, so not all Insiders will see Sets.
More info on this approach can be found on the Windows Insider Program blog.
What you will see in the December release

- You will be able to control what tabs you restore when launching a Set
- Timeline integration
- The new tab page will allow local search, show frequently visited apps, and include additional feeds
- The new tab page will be able to launch apps in a new tab
Accessibility
We created some keyboard shortcuts for Sets. Some might be challenging, so we welcome your feedback.
Shortcuts Action Win+Ctrl+Tab Switch to the next tab Win+Ctrl+Shift+Tab Switch to the previous tab Win+Ctrl+W Close the active tab Win+Ctrl+1 through 8 Switch to a specific tab Win+Ctrl+9 Switch to the last tab Win+Ctrl+T Open a new tab
Throughout this process we’ve put a lot of effort into making Sets easy to use for everyone. We expect to have Narrator support soon and screen-reader functionality is on the horizon as well.
If you’re currently using Ease of Access tools and don’t want this experience, you can turn it off in Settings. Select the Start button, then select Settings > System > Multitasking > Uncheck Tabs in apps.
Source: Introducing Sets - Windows Insider
It has not appeared in either of my two insider builds I use but I figured that was just because I am in the UK.
I haven't seen any members that have yet. Performing a search of Sets in the Hub gets a lot of hits.
I appear to have the Sets feature in the latest build 17074. Looks to be working and I can see that all the apps I currently have working together are in Tabs in a window that is a bit like an Edge browser window.
I'm getting 17074 now on one IP computer, check the other later today.
I received Sets in my last IP build 17063 on my main ASUS tower, but not the Acer. Same thing with the new build 17074. I've concluded out of this that it's not related to an Insider account, but may be the resources/power of the machine? Not sure. It is heavy on resources.
