Surprise or not, hard to work when you have familial obligations (that also are not a surprise) to contend with as well. And not everyone should be expected to work through the holidays, even if the job you hold makes you do so.
I can't believe the nerve of people in here complaining about a build not being released 4 days into the new year. Get a friggin life and let these people have at least *some* down time. It gets old after a while hearing the same complaints over and over again when a build isn't released on some extremely uneducated timeline set by the masses.
Totally off topic but that reminds me of my native Finland and the law about using winter tyres / tires (pick your spelling!). The law says you must use winter tyres between December 1st and February 28th, but you may use them already from November 1st and may continue using until March 31st.
Every year it's this one month between when you may start using winter tyres and when you must start using them when we see an increase in accidents. Everybody knows winter is coming, everybody knows that a single night might bring a few inches snow and icy roads, yet every year it looks as if winter and snow come as surprise, people thinking "It's only November, cops don't fine me if I continue driving with summer tyres! No reson to change yet".

Hi All
found a nice little MS Troubleshooter Tool, 2 actually but they do the same thing.
KB3073930 and KB3183922
They offer the HIDE option for drivers and updates
Ran it on my build and it showed a load of Intel drivers available to hide, interestingly NOT in Windows Updates.
As this is a diag.cab not an actuall update you will need to save it

Well, I just scratched one problem of my list, some APPs including Store not recognizing internet connection. FF no sound and "Your license will expire soon" still remain. I wish MS would fix some known bugs by issuing updates and not waiting for full builds.
