    I bummed!
Tried everything possible to get this Build installed, nada!

I blame it on my hardware; a number of Builds ago, I could set up and run Mixed Reality Portal, now, in Build 17025, it tells me my hardware is not compatible.

    Rats!!!
I tried clean installing 16299 and it upgraded straight to 17063.

I clean installed 16299, then upgraded directly to 17046, and then upgrade from 17046 to 17063 which I am on now.

You, apparently, are clean installing 17046 directly and upgrading to 17063, or clean installing 17063 directly, correct?

Technically, Microsoft doesn't support clean direct installs of Fast ring builds, as mentioned by Kari in this tutorial: Windows Insider - Clean install latest Fast Ring build Installation Upgrade Tutorials

And that is why I am clean installing 16299 and then upgrading to Fast ring builds.

Have you tried clean installing 17025 and upgrading to 17063 and see if it works that way, instead of starting with 17046?
Just wondering. why not 16299 straight to 17063?

Logically if it updated for you it should update for everyone, yes?

Went to the loft yesterday and brought down an old Vista laptop with a failing hard disk and 1GB of RAM. Installed windows 10 and after installing it said “can’t update, needs 2GB of RAM minimum.

So I went to CEX and got a second hand 140GB hard disk for £5, and 2GB of RAM for £4, fitted them on, installed 16299, updated everything, used a windows 7 key for activation, joined the insiders with a new MS account, put a USB with 17025 on it and it installed perfectly.

Now instead of being happy about it I’m even more upset

Why wouldn’t this stupid system boot with any of the RS-4s?
    Someone must know

This is getting tedious. We get it - it does not work on old device. Buy a new pc!

Yes mate I’m in the process, all that’s left to get is the Motherboard and Ram
I‘ve got the rest of the components including the i7 8700k CPU
Just need a bit more time, sorry

Do make sure that the Motherboard matches with the eighth generation i7 CPU....ie Z370.
