I installed it with the old USB switch trick, plugged in the flash drive with the build that can actually be installed and when it got to the choosing partition part ( at which i was getting the error ) i switched the flash drive to the one with 17063 on it, worked like a charm

Did you try the install media (thumb drive?) switcharoo as gasseratef did?

And the Windows logo screen freeze is as Edwin gets, yes? If I remember his correctly.
Yes mate I tried the switcharoo method and as gasseratef said it “worked like a charm” started installing but on reboot it froze on the windows logo with no circling/spinning dots as allways with any and all RS-4 releases.

The only difference being, this time I had to re-install 16299 whereas before, windows would just roll back to it after I turned the machine off and on after the freeze.

Have you considered dual booting? Works out well for many of us.
I have actually and I've re-installed 17063 on a different partition but to be honest it's useless since I have my game on most of the time so I will not be spending much time on 17063 which means it's useless, but I installed it just in case there is a hotfix update for the crash or something which is unlikely.

I have run CHKDSK /r /f /x twice and ran the DISM check twice plus the HP extensive system check and nothing found any errors with my system. BUT it still refuses to install 17063. Gets to 53% and reboots and reinstalls 17046. I have run the reset installer several times but that does not seem to be the issue as security updates install fine. I feel it might be a driver conflict of some sorts.
Perhaps I should uninstall Malwarebytes and retry but probably will just go to the slow releases until I can get something to update.

I'm sorry if the method I mentioned caused you any issues, it was smooth for me and I actually installed it with that same method twice in the past couple days, the freeze could be related to the machine or maybe your ISO's files are corrupted? tried remaking the ISO?

Thank you for the method mate I’m used to it by now, I’ve been diskparting, formatting, installing, failing and installing again over and over since the first release of the RS-4s. The ISOs are ok, I make an ISO with every new release but mostly I play around with installing 17025 which is an MS ISO release.

The incompatibility has to be related to the motherboard, I’m just trying anything and everything I can while the spondulix builds up in my piggy bank for an upgrade. :)

Take the CMOS battery out for half an hour or so to reset to basic settings. If that doesn't work then take the machine to the highest floor and drop it out the Window.

That will definitely reset it one way or another
