Think the Insider Dev Team took an early Xmas break...Firefox audio and Setpoint issue main two for me. Rollback to 17046. Anyhow guess that's why we tinker with test builds!
    Seasons Greetings folks...

can't seem to make a clean install of 17063, when i get to the setup window and choose a parition to install i get " windows cannot create a partition or locate an existing one" i had to install a previous version then upgrade but not a clean install
also i have an online game that doesn't seem to want to launch, it appears in task manager for about 5 seconds then it's gone
i have sent feedback about the game crash, but does anyone know how to fix the installation error?

anyone faced this error while installing a clean install yet?
Try the following, but check all the procedures and commands to fit your system. e.g. MBR vs GPT and sizes of partitions.

Basically following steps 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7 of Kari’s tutorial here:

    Boot from your media
    Click Install Now
    Accept License Agreement
When the option is displayed to select an installation type, click (Custom Advanced)
Press Shift + F10 on your keyboard
    type the following commands
    DISKPART
    Hit Enter
    list volume
Next you will select the volume where you would like to install Windows
    Type: select disk #
    # represents the number the volume
    Type: clean
    convert gpt (or mbr)
    create partition primary
    active
    format quick fs=ntfs
    exit
    exit

Basically following a part of Kari’s tutorial here: DISKPART - How to Partition GPT disk Installation Upgrade Tutorials
I suggest a modification: (As I use a very similar method when clean installing onto my SSD, which I've done 4 times in the last 2 months now)

After using the clean function (and optionally converting to GPT if you need to), exit out of Diskpart and then CMD, and then press refresh to allow the Windows installer to reassess the installed drives, and then select the drive you just 'cleaned' in diskpart and see if it allows it to install.

By doing it this way, you also allow Window to set up it's hidden boot partition, which may prove to be beneficial down the road, as well as is more in line with the way they want it done, so may actually help with the install procedure as well.

Thanks, John. Yes, I forgot about the 100 MB EFI system partition, so I modified my post. That would've been a critical mistake.

Has anyone had their taskbar transparency gone away?

Mine did on both a VM and laptop install. No transparency for the taskbar.

Which means the old black cartridge may not have been empty to begin with....
It probably was, John, because it had been warning me for some time that it was running out of ink. I'd had it in for awhile . . . Hmmmm, I haven't taken the recycle stuff to Office Depot, so maybe I'll test it. :)

But what makes me hesitant to think it wasn't empty is that the new cartridges were recognized as new and "printed" just like they "should". IOW, I wasn't told the new cartridge was empty.

Anyone get the warning triangle on the Defender icon in the systray? Hovering over with a balloon notification stating “Actions recommended”, but yet all looks ok in Defender Security Center? I get that on two machines.

Edge closes out when deleting a Favorite or Favorite folder.

My global spellcheck isn’t working as well.

LOL! What in the hey is this?

    Attachment 169087

So far as transparency feature; Asus tower with MSI card with Nvidea.

    Attachment 169088

Old Acer with MSI card with Nvidea.

    Attachment 169089

Have no idea other than hardware difference.
