Known issues in this update (KB4054517)

    Symptom Workaround
Update installation may stop at 99% and may show elevated CPU or disk utilization if a device was reset using the Reset this PC functionality after installing KB4054022. Note This workaround uses c:\temp and the x64 architecture as examples. Update these examples as appropriate for your environment.

    1. Download the appropriate version of KB4054022 for your device architecture from the Microsoft Update Catalog to c:\temp. Then run the commands in the steps below from the administrative command prompt.
    2. Expand the .msu file that you downloaded in step 1.

      mkdir c:\temp
      expand -f:* windows10.0-kb4054022-x64.msu c:\temp
    3. End the existing Trusted Installer processes and install KB4054022 using the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool.

      taskkill /f /im tiworker.exe
      taskkill /f /im trustedinstaller.exe
      dism /online /add-package /packagepath:c:\temp\Windows10.0-KB4054022-x64.cab
    4. (Optional) Delete the CBS logs from the Windows Logs directory.

    del /f %windir%\logs\cbs\*.log

Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
Windows Update History reports that KB4054517 failed to install because of Error 0x80070643. Even though the update was successfully installed, Windows Update incorrectly reports that the update failed to install. To verify the installation, select the Check for Updates button to confirm that there are no additional updates available.
You can also type About your PC in the Search box on your taskbar to confirm that your device is using OS Build 16299.125.

I followed this procedure https://www.howtogeek.com/224798/how...einstall-them/ about the time of the Anniversary Update and it particularly includes Groove Music which I successfully uninstalled. Having since gone through the various updates to Fall Creators, Groove Music remains absent...thankfully!

I notice the article was updated quite recently so try it and please post here with your version number (Winver) so we all know if it still works.
Thanks for the link from "how-to-geek", but I don't really want to uninstall Groove Music. It is working fine except for that glitch of not giving any sound when minimized, which is not a big nuisance after all. Instead of minimizing, I can always put it on mini-player mode. I will probably try to reset it. As far as I remember, there is a way (tutorial) on how to reset the apps in Windows Store; I'll have to find it first, try it, and post back to let you how everything turns out. :)

Given my experience over the past several minutes, I don't know what to tell you that might help:

    1. In Settings/a;pps, the SiriusXM entry has a reset function, which supposedly will remove all of your settings; I ran it three times, and nothing was changed.

    2. I deleted the app, then did a search for it; I had done that a few days ago, and found a number of links. Today, two or three Google search pages turned up no links.

    3. I did, however, find this; SiriusXM Streaming Radio: Listen Now | SiriusXM Radio . That works inside Firefox, just the way that the link I had used until the Saturday morning when it quit. I called SiriusXM that day, had to speak with more than one person util I was finally connected with someone who knew that I now how to download and install the app.

This new (or perhaps even a resurrection of the previous such link) works okay, and seems to continue working when I minimize Firefox. It even opened with the settings I had (for a grand total of three classical music channels) when using the app.
The same answer given to @VBF in my post #132 goes also to you. I will try to reset Groove Music on my end and see what happens. I will post back...:)

Ah.... Given your comment in Post #125 I I am having the same problem with Groove Music, I thought you were having probs with Groove Music. The procedures in the "how-to-geek" link should in theory work for any of the MS built-in apps...but with MS it's hard to tell sometimes.
I've found that if any app, built-in or otherwise misbehaves, an uninstall, registry clean, reboot and subsequent re-install often sorts it out. As ever...YMMV!

    @VBF and @Not Myself,

I have found the solution with regard to Groove Music not giving any sound when minimized. At least, that is what has worked for me. Go to Settings (gear icon) >Apps > Apps & Feature > Scroll down until you find Groove Music:

    Cumulative Update KB4054517 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.125-groove-music-inside-apps-feature.png

After clicking (left click) on Groove music, you will have three options: "Advanced options", "Remove", "Uninstall". Click on the first one (Advanced options):

    Cumulative Update KB4054517 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.125-advanced-options-groove-music.png

That should take you to the Groove Music's Reset page. This is the important part. Above the "Reset" button, there is warning saying that "if you reset the app, the app's data will be deleted and the app may be unusable for a while. Before you do, try resetting from within the app's own settings page instead of there. That way, you won't loose all your app data"

So, I follow the advice given in the warning and went directly inside Groove Music and clicked on the little gear icon (lower right corner) of the navigation pane and reset from there:

    Cumulative Update KB4054517 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.125-gear-icon-inside-groove-music.png

After that, I rebooted my PC and opened again Groove Music, played some song and minimized it to the Taskbar. As I was writing all this, my Groove Music was playing minimized.

Thanks but tbh, I don't like Groove Music so my uninstall to which I referred IS the solution.

I use VLC VLC: Official site - Free multimedia solutions for all OS! - VideoLAN for everything Video and some Audio

    and 1by1 mpesch3.de - Homepage of mp3DirectCut and 1by1 - free MP3 editor and directory player
    for MP3s - sorted!

with regard to VLC, but sometimes I used Groove Music just to listen to some musics. It's not that bad after all.

I cant seem to get this and a couple others installed on one laptop. It restarts without any install indications and then says it couldn't finish installing updates. Sigh ...

    Cheers,
I've already tried downloading the stand alone from 1st page here, and that don't work either. Still want install. Sits at 99% and then I get an error message.
