    Enhanced Session Mode

I have Windows 10 Build 10041 and created a VM in Hyper-V using a Windows XP SP3 iso. After initial setup, Windows XP is missing many drivers, including network so I can't copy driver files to the VM. Is there a way to enable usb support or anything else that will allow me to copy files to it? Enhanced Session Mode is enabled.

Windows 8.x and 10 come with Hyper-V drivers in the box, so you don't have to install them manually, XP does not. So you need to install the guest tools.

Make sure you're in Windowed mode (not full screen) and under the Action menu of the Viewer, choose "Insert Integration Services Setup Disk", this will install a virtual "disk" with the setup program to install the guest tools. It may start automatically, or you may have to open the drive and run the setup program manually.

There are no additional guest tools to install for XP guests in Hyper-V in Windows 10. In fact, a common cause for connection issues in XP guests is that the user has enabled the guest services which by default are disabled. Screenshot below shows how XP guest integration settings should be set:

Enabling Guest Services do not automatically mean connection issues, whereas selecting wrong virtual NIC does. What is most probably the issue in your case is that you are using a standard virtual NIC instead of the legacy one. See the Hyper-V tutorial, Part Five steps 5.3 to 5.6 for instructions for removing the NIC and replacing it with a legacy NIC: Hyper-V virtualization - Setup and Use in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Screenshot below shows an XP Pro SP3 guest running on Windows 10 Build 10041 Hyper-V vm set up with default settings except replacing the NIC with legacy NIC, straight after first boot to desktop. None whatsoever connectivity or driver issues:

Is this new in Windows 10? According to this article: You are supposed to install the Guest Services in XP for 8.1 Hyper-V host.

Yes. The required integration components for Windows guests are built-in in Hyper-V, as are the integration components for supported Linux distros (Red Hat, CentOS and OpenSUSE).

The option to insert the integration ISO as virtual DVD no longer exists.
