Google brought me here and this post solved my problem - Even while i was having problems with .iso and another app (5k player). After resetting the default app back to Explorer it worked like a charm. Thank you!

This is a brand new installation of Windows 10. I never messed with these Context Menus.
This suggests to me that the default is NO MOUNT.
No, the default seems to be Mount. All my machines show the 'Manage - Disk Image Tools' tab in File Explorer when selecting disk image files of type .img, .iso, .vhd and .vhdx. The default action for all of them is Mount. This screenshot is from a clean install done just a week ago.
