Can't drag and drop to Windows 10 guest on VM Workstation

I have been using VMware Workstation with various OS's for a while and think it's great. However with my Windows 10 x64 TP guest, even though I installed VM tools - it's almost like VM tools isn't running. I can't drag and drop files from host to VM desktop, and although USB flash drives say connected, they don't appear in file explorer.

I installed 10 as an 8 VM, if you get my drift, so it's either me doing something stupid or 10 being a bit too new for full Workstation 10 functionality. Have uninstalled/reinstalled VM tools. Any suggestions welcome.

I'm not sure what to suggest, but I have it installed in VMware and the tools work fine for me. I haven't tried to drag and drop, but I can copy/paste between the 2.

Sure, if you would. I'm just using default Windows 8 x64 settings for 10TP, and I have drag + drop and copy + paste checked in Guest Isolation. I have all the prev Windows (from 3.11) in the VMware, most x86, some x64 and the recent ones can drag/drop. I'm a big fan of VMware, so any VM info you got for me is welcome.

Drag and Drop works fine with mine. However, sometimes you will need to move the mouse back and forth until you see the + sign then release the mouse.

In order to see the external USB, from the Menu: VM->Removable Devices->XXX->connect, XXX is your device
OR: from the status bar at bottom right, click on the USB Device->connect

Here are most of the settings, if you need more, just ask.

I have the same problem (since the initial release), but I use the networking utilities thus have no real problems moving files around. VMWare will probably be posting an update once they know the final release date date for win 10.

@essenbe - my settings are the same as yours. I just tried a 2nd VM install of 10TP and this time I have drag and drop, but not USB pen drive. Guess I'll settle for that. Perhaps I should learn how to share folders in VM.

Since I have a few machines, I was tempted to do a real install, until I read that 10TP doesn't have Media Center, and my boxes double up as HDTV.

Anyhow, thanks for the replies guys.
