    I do recall during backup, to insert next disk, I am sorry that's all I remember. Being 79 years old is quite challenging.

    If the computer boots to the desktop and shuts down properly, I think you should find and install programs you use...

    Ok I can do that, except the programs I have not been unable to recover are far more then what I have ready available.. In fact two of the programs I paid for, one being an Office program. Is there any hope for regaining them.?

    If you are signing in with a Microsoft Account, Office should be attached to that account...
