    dmholt57,
After the computer completed the reset, I had a desktop with no icons. I was able to try an sign on, and it kept trying to sign in without any success. At that point I was done for the night. I left the computer and this morning I found a desktop with icons. As you can see I was able to get to my email to respond to you. I am not going to be online until 1pm. A quick look at what was available to me revealed there is almost no programs files listed. Until next time we talk.

    Why are people overcomplicating things.

If iso won't mount, then it needs to be redownloaded again.

No amount of faffing around can fix a corrupt iso.

The way he wrote his problem, I understood he made a system image onto DVDs, and wants to mount the image so he can get some files.
As cheep as external HDDs are these days, I thought it weird he used DVD's

Martin, you need to follow the crumb trail he left behind to this post in another thread:
    .
I have discovered that I did in fact accomplish a backup of seven disks back on May 15, 2017. I used DVD-RW disks.
and when I attempted to to mount the files from any of the disks I received the following message. Virtual hard disk files can't be mounted from image files, or from removable media that isn't formatted with NTFS file system. I tried formatting a blank dvd disk, then I used a program to copy one of the backup disks. When I attempted to have the copy of a backup disk write to the formatted disk, it said the disk was not empty, due to the formatting. I am totally lost and inexperienced. I would appreciate getting any help I can. Thank you.

    dmholt57,
Did you say I need to do the reset again, if so, what should I expect? On every file that I found, I clicked on it see if it would mount, and received a message that the file was corrupted. Am I working on a dead end with corrupted files, or are you suggesting the reset procedure should solve the problem to regain the program files. Since the reset, my computer is almost out of data. I am willing to follow your lead because I need help. Please be explicit as you can for me to follow. Thanks again.

Your programs will have to be re-installed. What program did you use to backup to disks? If the normal operations of the system are working no need for another reset.

I wish I had visited the forum a long time ago. I did not know what I was getting into to backup files, let alone to be using dvd disks. As I said before, I appreciate you guys, plus I am learning.

If this backup is OEM set that you can make when you first get up and running...normal way to use is boot from number 1 disk and follow instructions to insert next disk...

I am so confused as to what program I used, that was back in may 2017. I believe I used a program based on the computer and selecting backup.
