I tried it every which way. No dice. It installed without issue on W7 and Vista. Maybe I'll be able to get it on later. For now I got FF Portable folder over to Public then moved it, via the network.

For some reason the x64 install of the OS kept hanging at 50% configuring devices. I put the 32 bit on and at least it works. I can mess around with it at least. I must say the desktop is really drab. The "washed out flat" look must be the rage in Paris or something. I've seen better Dos character UI screens.

It maybe worth re-downloading the ISO as i think i saw this issue before and it was a corrupt ISO.

I checked the hashes before doing anything. In any case it's working well enough now I can run FF on it. Good enough to play around. Maybe VMPlayer will come out with a fix or whatever. :)

    Hi there

Yes that's correct - The first iso I downloaded must have got hosed up since W10 didn't work at all properly - Re-downloaded the iso and re-installed W10 -- works (with some glitches - normal in this type of pre-release software) both as a HOST and a GUEST.

I've had it as a GUEST both using HYPER-V and VMWARE -- you can't run both CONCURRENTLY but by using the script shown in this link you can boot the system with EITHER HYPER-V or VMWARE / VBOX. You don't need to switch Windows features on and off each time. Just follow the actions in link and re-boot.

Running Hyper-V and VMware Workstation on Windows 8.x - www.ivobeerens.nl

(You could instead make a displayable option at boot time - but I can't be bothered with that). The above method is simple and works).

    Cheers

    Hi there
drab colours etc is probably due to your not being able to install VMware tools . There are some nice Themes you can install once you get VMware tools installed.

Have you tried also re-installing VMWARE itself - install the latest release of PLAYER(free) or Workstation if you have a license.

    Cheers

This was yesterday? Because that's when I downloaded the x64 image.

Edit: The point is the hash is the same as those listed in the download list. Unless you are getting it from a page other than that listed on Brink's post "download the technical preview." If one byte of the file was different so would the hash. So what you're saying is going over my head somehow.

Edit2: In any case I don't think I'll be copying a whole bunch of files on. If I want to run with glass I use w7.
