    Windows 10 in Hyper V doesn't launch

Created Hyper-V (type 1), installed Windows using the .iso.
All went fine, the usual stuff.
But, at the very end, at reboot, Windows 10 stops, it does not continue launching Windows.
Hyper-V is enabled in "Turn Windows features on or off"
    VT-x is enabled in BIOS
    Windows 10 x64, the VM is also 10 x64

Followed the steps in the Microsoft tutorial "Create Virtual Machine with Hyper-V on Windows 10" -
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/vi...irtual-machine
and selected Generation 1 (at point 6)

    Below for info.

really no idea what goes wrong.

    Anyone??

    Thanks.

After you got to that point, did you click on "connect"?

    Yes, I did.

Created a video, as per attachment.
It is RAR file containing a MP4 file
"W10VM - Virtual Machine Connection (Virtual Machine Connection).mp4"

mp4 files are not allowed to be uploaded.

The weird thing is that ocasionally(!) only when shutting down, I see my name flashing by, which is not the case when launching.
Like right now, when shutting down ....
    probably nothing will happen though

Let it rest, I give up.
I tried various ways, tried "Generation 2" VM, tried with Quick Create, tried .. I don't know what else.
Hyper V seems to be a bit more complicated it seems than VMware.

    Ended up with errors like

    Virtual Machine Boot Summary
    1. SCSI DVD (0,1) The boot loader failed.
    2. SCSI Disk (0,0) The boot loader did not load an operating system.
    3. Network Adapter (00155D010104) A boot image was not found.
No operating system was loaded. Your virtual machine may be configured incorrectly.
Exit and re-configure your VM or click restart to retry the current boot sequence again.

    Or

    "
Press any key to boot from CD or DUD
    Start PXE ouer IPv4.

    "
    failing to load the windows.iso

You could try turning off enhanced session mode:

Coincidentally I clicked on a button in the toolbar that apparently made the VM switch to 'basic mode' and see there ....
    I got the login screen!
    Finally...
Then Outlook on host didn't work and I needed to make changes to the network card settings, TCPIP4 DNS things to make it work again.

All in all I started exploring VMware Workstation Player...
(hesitate to pay another usd 120 incl VAT for upgrading my Pro version)

    Anyway, thanks for the tip!

I have never seen an option in Hyper-V for basic mode. I just run it and it works.

BTW, I just had a problem creating a Windows 10 VM with Hyper-V. The setup kept crashing and giving strange errors. The problem turned out to be a faulty ISO. Creating another one with Media Creation Tool solved the problem.

Is there a reason you want to upgrade to the Pro version? Does the Pro version have something the free version doesn't?

BTW, on a couple computers I have Hyper-V, VMware Workstation Player, and Oracle Virtual Box. They all have their quirks but they all work for me. And best of all they are all free.

Turn off Windows Hello in the HyperV vm, and you will be able to connect in enhanced mode.
