How to increase vdisk size after having it set as fixed

I created a virtual disk with diskpart and had it set as fixed size with the following command:

    create vdisk file="%userproflle%\desktop\mydisk.vhd" type=fixed maximum=1024

That created a virtual disk with the size of 1 GB and I was wondering if I still can increase the size of the virtual disk.

    Thanks in advance.

    Number of ways

Easiest is to use "edit disk" option from Hyper-V menu options.

Another way is to simoly create a larger blank vdisk and clone old to new.

@cereberus thank you, It looks like you can also use diskpart to increase the size of fixed vifrtual disk with:

    expand vdisk maximum=10000
    next:
    extend
extend makes the partition extend to maximum non alocated space.

The only difference to a expandable disk is that it starts using less diskspace on the host disk and starts increasing in size while you fill it with stuff
