    Switch user in VM?

In my Windows guest in Hyper-V when I log into windows account I often times need to switch to another user, ex. from Admin to standard user.

However issue is that there is no such option, the only option is to sign out and then sign into another account from login screen.

screenshot shows only "sign out" is possible:

But what I need is this:

This problem is present only in VM so I suspect there must be some option somewhere to enable switching without having to sign out from currently logged in user?

    Hello mate,

Do you have any of the usual methods below to switch user in the VM available?

If not, then double check using the tutorial below to make sure Fast User Switching is enabled in the VM.

I have no such issue in any of my Hyper-V VMs. A default install should have Fast User Switching enabled without you needing to turn it on. Here's one of mine Where I have switched from an account name Owner to one named Maintenance, you can clearly see that Owner is still signed in.

Unfortunately GPO option did not work, and the registry option is what GPO option sets so it's same result.

Option 1 is the actual problem I have and is not present.

Option 2 works, but it signs me out, so not a solution.

Option 3 doesn't give me an option to switch:

Option 4: doesn't work because VM doesn't let me use CTRL + ALT + DEL while in enhanced mode

Option 5: works but it requires me to sign out to get to that menu, so not a solution.

Option 6: doesn't present me an option to switch:

I must say that this problem is present only in enhanced session in VM, in basic session user switching from start menu works fine.

that's useful because I did a bit of investigation and noticed that this problem is present only while in advanced session, in basic session I'm able to switch from start menu.

Seems like you always work in basic, can you test in enhanced session?

But I always work in enhanced session to be able to copy\paste from host to guest and vice versa.

CTRL+ALT+DEL will always act on the Host machine, not the Hyper-V VM. In the VM you can use CTRL+ALT+END instead.

The option is there for guest system but it's grayed out:

Anyway CTRL + ALT + DEL works but it's not letting me to switch user account:

So it seems it's impossible to switch user accounts in enhanced session at all? (except to sign out)
