Hi. I have 32Gb of physical ram. I turned off virtual memory, and now i get lots of game crashes or other things related to virtual memory. Do i really need virtual ram if i have 32Gb ram? There is no way i am maxing out my 32Gb ram, so what is happening?
Why am i crashing here and there when i disable virtual ram? My virtual memory load in HardWare Monitor was at 95% when i crashed, not its at 50% no games running.

Windows still needs a bit of virtual memory for logging purposes e.g.crash dumps. It is always advisable to have some. In the end, just leave it on automatic. It does not speed up anything disabling it. Plenty of articles on web telling you why.Hi. I have 32Gb of physical ram. You would be suprised how much memory some apps need. When I used to disable pagefile with 16GB, PC was crashing, because Deus Ex game was taking more than 12GB, that was like 5 years ago. But it never happened since I have 32GB. It is most likely caused by a memory leak, still pretty common in Windows, either because of widgets, dwm.exe, explorer.exe or just a bad driver. Try Reduce Memory v1.6 to see, if it helps.
It's my experience that third-party programs expect both Virtual Memory/paging file/swapfile be available and a folder such as Temp for holding scratch data while working on a project such as graphics/CAD programs.
I have 32gb main memory and virtual memory is disabled. I never encounter any issue with games or programs. I'm running modified OS. As stated in other posts, some apps still expect virtual memory (probably older ones) and just because things are ok for you, no guarantee that applies to all users.
I have certainly experienced issues even though I had plenty of RAM disabling virtual memory. If I have limited RAM, I let windows decide, but I always allow some virtual memory just in case, and then I never get issues (as far as I know).
