Works perfectly too ---- even when installing as a Virtual machine.

I'm using KVM/QEMU for my VM software running Windows -- I'm using some paravirtualised VM drivers such as a virtual network card, virtual SCSI / SATA drivers, virtual video driver (to get full 4K UHD on the VM) and some others.

All these windows drivers exist on Red Hat's (Now IBM) virtio.iso cd image and can be injected into the image via dism.

Anybody using KVM/QEMU with a Windows VM can get the iso here (Free of course)

    virtio-win-pkg-scripts/README.md at master . virtio-win/virtio-win-pkg-scripts . GitHub

These work with any linux distro running KVM/QEMU and Windows virtual machines.

BTW a quick trick in installing Windows to a physical removable USB without needing vhd/vhdx files is actually very quick and easy.

    1) create a basic VM -- you don't need to assign any disk space etc -- just take most of the defaults and boot options.

    2) Attach the install iso as the boot device

    3) attach the external usb device as a physical device to the vm

    4) partition it with small efi partition (assuming efi boot) and an ntfs partition (this can be done in advance if you want)

    5) install windows via the dism/exe method to the external device. Normally Windows won't install to external device (unless vhd/vhdx files) but will within a VM

    6) After install and the VM needs to reboot to finish the set up change the VM boot order to boot from the attached usb device and complete install.

    7) reboot the HOST machine with the install iso as the boot device

    8) re-install the boot loader to the external device via bcdboot

    9) now boot from the external device and enjoy physical windows running totally from external device.

Have fun -- this also works for W11 installs too if you want to try W11 on real hardware without hosing up your W10 system.

Also good when you don't have a supported CPU for W11. You can "poodlefake" a supported CPU if you can fiddle around with the CPU topology for the virtual CPU - in the case of KVM/QEMU set the virtual cpu to Hypervisor default and uncheck the use host cpu box.

The same mechanism can be done from a Windows host if you have HYPER-V and can boot from an attached USB device although if you want W11 I'm not sure about whether you can alter the virtual CPU type. Not sure either about VMWare / Oracle products.

    Cheers

    @123beyduzceli,

I mean no offense, but you seem to have a tendency to never respond directly to questions posed.

    !!!!!PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!!!

When you are asking how to make an "unattended driver" we need to understand what you mean by this. Which of these are you trying to accomplish?

    1) Install a driver onto Windows automatically (unattended) without prompting you for information while you are running Windows.

    2) Add one or more drivers to an unattended Windows installation so that the driver(s) is automatically installed along with an unattended installation of Windows.

It sounds like you want to add to a Windows ISO image, and a link has already been provided that tells you everything you need to know. Did you follow the instructions there? Did you run into any difficulties?
