    Hyper-V and Pause

First a RANT: Microsoft needs to hire programmers that understand English! And how to use a dictionary so they can look up troublesome words like "PAUSE"!!! End of RANT

I have 2 Hyper-V VM's that I put on pause when not using. I turn my PC off at night and the next morning I turn it on. You would expect that the 2 Hyper-V VM's would still be paused because I never resumed (started) them... well you would be wrong!

Anyone know how to get Hyper-V to honor the "pause" state through a host machine restart?

Firstly, as you are a new poster, this forum does not appreciate rants when all you need to do is ask nicely.

Pressing pause is like pressing pause on a dvd player. If you turn off dvd player, it does not remember that point.

You have to save status. Several ways of doing it.

    1) change setting for Automatic Stop Option to Save.

    2) Alternatively save vm rather than pause. This is easiest option

3l You can also create a production checkpoint, so you can go straight to status at point of creating checkpoint on restart. Checkpoints are a bit like system restore points and you can have several and wind up and down checkpoints.
