First off, Edge Chromium uses Windows Sandbox regardless of whether you are testing software. The purpose of sandbox technology, or software isolation goes beyond testing.
Secondly, if a sandboxed process under Sandboxie creates another process, then this other process runs sandboxed regardless of self-extraction and regardless of dynamical code generation.
Thirdly, if a sandboxed process under Sandboxie has the ability to communicate with another process that is running outside the sandbox, then you could always decide to ensure that this other process is sandboxed too, i.e., as opposed to letting it run outside the sandbox. It also is possible to apply some restrictions, by customizing the sandbox settings to further satisfy your need, and, in addition to this, it also is possible to use multiple sandboxes concurrently─and to customize the settings of each sandbox individually. (You could even decide to use BOTH Sandboxie AND the Windows Sandbox, ALSO concurrently.)
Finally, it also is possible to run a VM in a sandbox and/or use a sandbox in a VM, also in addition to setting up a separate user account to provide added restrictions. As for various software not working properly when running it sandboxed, like I already explained in your other thread, yes, you can expect that will happen, nothing can ever be perfect, but then, you don't know that it doesn't work unless you've tried it, so things can be very often still worth giving a shot anyway nevertheless. No success? Go buy a separate computer. I will only add that I have used µTorrent 2.2.1 build 25302 under Sandboxie for years, back in the day when Sandboxie was still proprietary and maintained by Invincea. Not because I was stubborn (I am), but because I love sandcastles.
