    Problem accessing entire network on a VMware machine running W11.

    Hi all -

    OK, running W10 Pro natively with complete LAN access.

    Setup W11 under VMware 16.x and have internet access, yet cannot see entire native network.
    Seems that VMware is using a generic Intel adapter for access, not the host Killer AX1650x NIC.

    Only have one network connection using NAT.

    Everything enabled for Network Discovery on W10 and W11.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks!

    I get the same in Hyper-V. The solution in Hyper-V is to create a network switch and connect the VM's network card to that rather than the Default Switch (which only give access to the Host and the Internet).

    It's similar in VMWare, apparently. See if this helps....

    Solved: VMware mot seeing other non host computers. - VMware Technology Network VMTN

    I see. OK problem solved - Turned NAT off and set Network Adapter to Custom (VMnet0) in VM Settings.

    Thanks, Bree

    @Bree -

    Yikes. Thought that I had it.

    Changed it to Bridged Mode. Still not using native NIC (no big deal) and cannot map a drive. Network is visible and have internet.

    The drive mapping is key. Strange.

    Edit - Problem now totally solved.

    Had to reboot the bloody VM, lol.
