Goal: Virtual disk to sync file sets with drives of different sizes

Have 3 sets of matching data: 1 set on 12GB drives, 1 set on 6GB drives, and 1 set on 2GB drives.

Would like to do a synch check by comparing file name/date/size of contents of 2-6GB to a 12GB drive and the contents of 3-2GB to a 6GB drive.

Would like to create a temp, virtual drive/folder of the 2-6GB drives (or 3-2GB drives) so I can use a synch program to do the compare.

    Any thoughts?

Asked this over in the sevenforums a couple of days ago since I plan to do this on a Win7 box, but no reply. I have vague memories of some software that could do creation of a virtual drive from multiple physical ones, but haven't been able to google it up. Almost like Library, but Library would not quite work here.

The problem is on different disk files may not show the same size due to file structure. The simple way is to use built in robocopy with that you can sync files and it will only copy new files just use mirror options its very fast

Don't understand this. File structure is same on all drives, so intuitively File A should show same size no matter physical drive size. Not talking about physical space actually taken on the drive which I do know will be different.

I do not want an automatic sync of drives, just report of differences. Most of the time in the past, discrepancies have been caused from manually copying a file into the wrong directory.

In the past, have taken Dirs of folders, merged appropriately then put into a spreadsheet to compare. With other data, the 3 sets are on same sized drives and I have an antique utility where I can just select a drive or folder on 2 of the 3 copies and run a compare - that's what I'd like to do here. I never have all 3 copies running at the same time.

Cluster size can be different on drives so a file can use blank sectors which gives it a different size. You could use à did find written to a file and compare in a spreadsheet

The compare software does not look at physical file size, so cluster size difference is irrelevant. I just need something that will effectively give me the combined Dirs as a drive or folder.
