Hyper V doesn't start Free Dos due to out of memory error

I chose to create the virtual drive in the D physical drive. Maybe I should create the virtual drive in the C physical drive instead?

Can you please record yourself both doing and showing everything that you did to make this working and then send me the video by replying to this comment?

I want to watch this video very both slowly and carefully and then learn everything from you what are the right things to do so I can start both executing and using DOS programs with Hyper V!

Unfortunately, I cannot video the actual cursor, but as you are familiar with Hyper-V, you can briefly see the next of finish button flash when I click on them. Similarly, you have to press enter on freedos text menus. You start by creating a new vm. I chose 1024 MB for memory and 10 GB for VHD - probably way over the top. You can experiment later.

I advise turning off checkpoints as shown.

Like @cereberus I can create a working FreeDos Hyper-V machine, basically by taking the default options.

The only problem I encountered was that CTMOUSE doesn't seem to work in Hyper-V. When opening EDIT it would not only not work, but seemed to disable keyboard input too. I had to unloadCTMOUSE in order to be able to use the editor from the keyboard so I could REM out the CTMOUSE in AUTOEXEC.BAT.

@Erez I created an animated .gif of my install process. It's in the attached .zip file. Extract the Hyper-V_FreeDos_install.GIF from it, then right-click on it, use 'Open with' to view it in Photos or in your browser. You'll see that I followed the same steps as cereberus.
