Thank you. I have used Disk Management to bring any DOS game into the vhdx file of Free Dos and then I tried to play the game.

When I tried to execute the binary file by typing it's name and then pressed Enter I saw the following error: "Runtime error 200 at 0926:0091"

Do you have any idea what exactly does this error says at all?

Because to me this error says nothing at all!
No idea. Go to the freedos forum.

    Hi there
    @Erez

C'mon guys -- it's simple enough -- just use another VM platform and it works properly -- here's your Freedos working on VMWare Workstation V16 (actually running on a Linux Host) -- you can use VMWare player (FREE), VBOX (Free) or KVM/QEMU (also free - but only on Linux Hosts).

All those VM systems also run on Windows Hosts (except KVM/QEMU) identically.

Download the ISO and install with Virtual machine wizard -- time to install this stuff - on my system was 90 secs !! less time than probably you guys making the posts.

At install choose type of memory allocation etc -- it takes such a short time that several installs with different options won't take more than a few minutes so the memory problem etc etc is fixed easily enough. The install wizard gives enough choices. Mine worked just using basic defaults in the "Create Virtual Machine" when starting VMWare workstation and using all the defaults - and then using the defaults when the Freedos install started its first boot.

HYPER-V might be fine for some things --I've found it rather cludgy myself especially in supporting older OS's.

    Cheers and Shalom !!!

@jimbo, Do you both think and believe that DOS games can be played with VMWare Workstation and Free Dos unlike Hyper V and Free Dos?

    EDIT 1:

Damn! I have that very annoying both not enough and out of memory both issue and problem again!!!
Hyper V is definitely a piece of both shit, crap, poop, trash and garbage! That's it! Switching to VMWare workstation RIGHT NOW!

    EDIT 2:

This very annoying both not enough and out of memory error suddenly disappeared or it doesn't show up anymore and the virtual machine started again successfully and I did nothing at all to get rid of this very annoying both not enough and out of memory error!

What the hell is going on with Hyper V!?

    EDIT 3:

Okay I have both downloaded and executed the "TP7P5FIX.com" file and now I don't see the "Runtime error 200 at 0926:0091" anymore and I can say that the game is now playing!

But now there are two new problems:

    1. The game is playing extremely slow.
    2. No audio. I don't hear anything while I am wearing my either headphones or headsets.

Why I encounter these two problems?

This is a windows 10 forum, not a freedos forum. We have helped you as much as we can. Go to the freedos forum.

I didn't know that there is freedos forum at all! Thank you very so much! I will continue from the freedos forum then!

Now unrelated to FreeDos at all but to the Hyper V of Windows 10 only in general:

Why "Enhanced session" is grayed out even after ticking both the "Allow enhanced session mode", "Use enhanced session mode" and "Guest services" checkboxes and also starting any virtual machine from Hyper V Manager?

Enhance session is not available if the VM is running a non-Windows operating system, and won't be available if the VM is running Home (which doesn't have RDP). See this tutorial:

To be able to use a computer's local resources on a virtual machine:

    * The Hyper-V host (ex: your PC) must have Enhanced session mode policy and Enhanced session mode settings turned on.
    * The Hyper-V virtual machine (guest) must have Remote Desktop Services enabled and run Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 as the guest operating system.
    * Enhanced session mode isn't available for generation 1 (unless Windows 10 Pro, Education, or Enterprise) virtual machines or for virtual machines that run non-Windows operating systems.

Yep. This is Hyper-V's biggest weakness as you cannot get sound on basic mode.

Even the enhanced mode ubuntu installation (uses xrdp) still has this limitation.

So how exactly am I supposed to access physical folders and files of the host's personal computer through the guest free dos virtual machine then? Only via Disk Management?

And again this very annoying both not enough and out of memory error has been returned!!!

    Hi there
loads of people have helped you out a lot here
Now it's time to sit down and understand a bit about Virtual Machines and their setup and limitations.
It just takes a bit of patience.

Once you've got the basics you'll be in a much better situation about what you want to do exactly and to be able to describe the real problems more accurately.

People have given you enough hints -- as for that one with VMWare - you could have tried it - all the components are free - would have taken you probably all of 15 mins.

People are here always willing to help others but also those being helped also have to show a bit of eagerness to try solutions proposed etc.

I like others have finished with this thread .

    Cheers
