New VMWare Workstaton PLayer 16

Hi there
working fine on both Linux and W10 platforms ( latest W10 insider DEV - 20H2 build).
Note same serial nr works for both Linux and W10 - should do as its a trial anyway (WKS) although the player is free for home users.
BTW No problem running a Windows VM with KVM/QEMU (sort of equivalent to Ms's HYPER-V) and VMWARE WKS 16 concurrently - Linux ARCH Host -- will try on FEDORA 34 wit 5.9 kernel --that will probably "Blow it up" though - will test later today as its hideous weather to go out etc !!!
I'd be interested if anybody with HYPER-V can test whether this version of either WKS or the player will run concurrently with a VM created on HYPER-V -- 2 separate VM's not a nested thing !!!! please.
@f14tomcat - thanks for the link -- are you minded to try concurrent VM's running under HYPER-V and VMWARE on windows -- the VM can be simple for example just run an ISO of stand alone boot of Macrium for one VM and anything on the other.
I don't have any experience with HYPER-V so if problems I'd have to determine whether its my inexperience with HYPER-V or the VMWare software causing the problem - so I leave that exercise to more experienced Windows users.

Hi there
Not installable on Fedora rawhide 34 host with kernel 5.9.XX
OK not an issue for Windows users but if VMWare are pushing this out to both Windows and Linux platforms at a FEE (59 USD for upgrade from WKS 15) then they should make sure it works on those platforms -- Linux I know has zillions of distros but the basic 4 / 5 mainstream ones should be covered : Viz : Ubuntu, Opensuse, Fedora ( includes Centos 8 and RHEL) and Debian derivatives such as Arch linux, and Linux Mint.
Most of Arch Linux AUR stuff that gets compiled on local systems is built from .deb (DEBIAN) packages BTW !!!.
I know there's a 30 day trial but somehow with Linux kernel 6.0 about to be released with quite big improvements in that OS - VMWare should surely be working on getting ready -- kernel 5.9.x should be mandatory pass for the package - especially as the source is all openly available.
I know most Windows users won't give a toss for VMWare not working on Linux - but consider for a moment --you are being offered a package that is supposed to run on current OS'es that does allow concurrent VM's on HYPER-V and VMWare) and LINUX - the current one (V15.X) does just fine (with restrictions known like you can't run concurrent VM systems on both VMWare and HYPER-V) -but the new version STILL doesn't work on versions of Linux that are due to become mainstream fairly soon. -- So what next - yet another FEE for upgrade to a future V17 of this stuff.
Cheers
