using vmware 15 for running two virtual machines of 350 Gb on a laptop

I use vmware 15 workstation. and the virtual machines I have are 350 Gb, I have a laptop with 12 Gb of RAM and it becomes almsot unusabe for me to use my laptop. The memory which I gave to virtual machines is 2 Gb and 4 Gb so 6 Gb from my laptop is dedicated for virtualization. I use Windows 10 6 Gb remaining should be enough for my laptop to work. That is my assumption. But it becomes almsot unusable for me to use my laptop in these situations.
these virtual machines are running on hard disk which is present inside laptop not on an external USB, they run on a single rotating disk.the hard disk is 5400 rpm WDC WD10JPVX-60JC3T1 to hard diskAmazon link

I can not purchase an Amazon AWS or Google cloud related thing. I don't have that much money what ever I need to do is it should be on my laptop only.So I wanted to know if there is a better solution for this kind of situation.

What OS are you running on the virtual machines? The 5400RPM hard drive is going top make this painful.

SLOW HDD's are the bane of any computer (even those with i7 processors !!!) -- any computer --even incredibly ancient hardware will benefit via fitting SSD's --cheap enough these days.

Once you've got the main OS (i.e the HOST OS) running on an SSD you can use a USB3-->SATA connector to attach another SSD to the machine -- useful if you can't get any more HDD's (or SSD's) on your Mobo or you just don't want to fiddle with the inside any more. The response time of VM's on this external SSD will be fine --I often run a Linux (ARCH) OS on one of these with a Windows VM running in QEMU/KVD -- as the HOST in my case is a Linux one the external SSD will boot quite happily not touching anything on the main Windows laptop.

Disk speed is so often forgotten when people try and improve performance -- usually RAM isn't an issue --especially with VMWare as it's dynamically allocated and most machines these days have more than enough CPU power.

(Gaming machines also need decent GPU's as well but that's another issue). If you decide to upgrade to HDD's instead of SSD's -then get one that has at least 7200RPM and has the LARGEST CACHE SIZE POSSIBLE (Caps intended).

either sort of disk -- stick the SATA end to the SATA connector on the MOBO and the power end to a power connector -- the power connector is the one with the most pins, the sata connector is usually marked on the mobo.

On a lot of laptops the HDD will just plug in -- assuming it's a 2.5 inch laptop type -- the SSD will plug in exactly where the old HDD was.

Copy the OS first with Macrium Free so you won't have to re-install anything again.

Slow HDD's will kill any sensible experience with almost any sort of computer.

I have a laptop with 8GB RAM that had a 5400rpm HDD. I ran Hyper-V VMs on it, but they were very slow. Then I replaced the HDD with an SSD, using Macrium Reflect Free to make an image of the HDD which I restored to the replacement SSD. The VMs now run as fast as if they were on real hardware. An SSD is the answer to your problems.
