    not sure what to do next

    I have an older Dell Inspiron 1545, I bought it used. I downloaded workstation Player, but do not know what to do after I install vmware Workstation player. Will vmware work on my system, I am running Windows 10 pro 32bit on my laptop. I can't go any further until my first question is answered.

    Does the laptop have Intel® Pentium® Processor T4200 as an processor?
    You have DDR2 memory,and in general your laptop is quite slow...
    See system requirements for VMWare Player HERE.
    Sorry,but in short... do not bother with such a computer. :)

    @rfcomptech

    For running a 32 bit OS on the HOST machine you'll have to get VMPlayer release 12 - current releases are only 64 bit. If you downloaded the current version it won't install.

    Remember also on a 32 Bit HOST you can only use a Max of 4GB RAM for HOST +VM combined so the best solution would be to see if the laptop actually is 64 bit capable and then run the 64 BIT version of W10 Pro. Unless the computer is incredibly old it probably can run a 64 bit OS.

    How much RAM does the machine have as well -- you really should have a minimum of 8GB these days to do anything sensible.

    Otherwise (and not trying to be nasty) - the best solution for that machine is a one way trip to your local Tip (or re-cycling centre).

    Cheers
