So if it was a driver issue.... update the drivers for the memory?

No, you will have two files on the other drive, but they will be pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys. The hiberfil.sys HAS to stay on the boot drive or it cannot work.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/pre...769(v=msdn.10)... in order to read the boot files off the disk, you need the file system driver, but the file system driver is on the disk, which you can't read until you've loaded the file system driver. Oh no, Catch-22!
The vicious cycle is broken by having a miniature file system driver built into the critical boot files. This miniature driver knows just barely enough to locate files in the root directory and load them into memory...
...to load the hibernation file, you need the file system driver, but the file system driver is in the hibernation file. If you keep the hibernation file in the root directory of the boot drive, the miniature file system driver can be used instead.
Right, understood. I remember trying it but wasnt sure if Hiberfil went onto same location as Pagefile. If setting up virtual memory through Windows I would change drive and let Windows do the location change. Its interesting to try different setups with the virtual disk
Is it possible to do away with the Pagefile completely with the size of hard drives now? If you know what i mean
Hiberfil.sys has to be on the boot drive for the reasons above, and although you can put the pagefile(s) on any drive you want, you need a 'memory' sized pagefile on the boot drive if you want a BSOD to save a dumpfile. That also uses the basic bios driver to save the memory dump to pagefile.sys then rename it as memory.dmp.
It's the size of your RAM that determines if a pagefile is needed. The more you have, the less needs to get paged out. I have, in the past, temporarily turned off the pagefile (then forgotten to turn it back on again). Even on a 4GB system it took several days before I noticed. With 16GB or 32GB it's a moot point whether you actually need one - or, if you have one, whether it would ever be used.Is it possible to do away with the Pagefile completely with the size of hard drives now? Doh thats what i meant, the ram, not the hard drive. Sorry my bad. More than 4 cans of cider on a Saturday isnt good for me but i enjoy it !
Its nice that ive finally found a forum where people share the same interests as me. Drunk or not hehe
So if I'm pushing 64 gb.... what would b the reasoning for my error report with low virtual memory? I tried to look up updating the memory drivers, but that led me down the road of updating the bios
Adobe is a bit of a pain try free hitfilm express much better or even filmora
