    Hi folks

    @f14tomcat

    Here's the list of features for VMWare workstation.

    also support for W10 19H2 amongst other things.

    Am running on a Linux Host (Arch Linux with kernel 5.3 but also same for Windows Hosts -- both VMWARE workstation and player). Simply before powering on any VM just check for updates (via the help function on the menu bar) - unless you have enabled check for updates at start up.

    Cheers

    Nice, still trying to decide to upgrade or not, because I don't want to upgrade now to find out that in the next 90 odd days a new version comes out and I need to pay for the upgrade........

    Hi there

    @Danielx64

    VMWare always give a free update to an existing version e.g 15.x to 15.x1 for example. They also have a policy that if a new version say 16.x comes out within 90 days of purchasing 15.x license then you get a free upgrade to the new version --- email them (go to sales rather than technical --sales depts of any organisation always respond quicker than the rest !!!!) and ask their policy on this.

    I doubt whether any 16.x release is mooted for release in the short term -- one will probably need a major Windows update or something like that which breaks 15.5 before a new release is scheduled.

    Cheers

    At The Vmware World event in San Fran about a month ago , VMWare announced that what I assume to be Ver 16 will be a free upgrade to 15.x owners

    Thank you, only thing is, wasn't 15.5 a free update for those who owns 15 or not?
    I have the Professional (paid) version and yes, the 15.5 update is at no charge, as it should be.

    Would you know how I can confirm this? I would hate to upgrade to 15.5 now to find out that this is not the case.
