@bo elam ... Thank you for taking the time to objectively critique:

Sandboxie was designed to be an easy to use application sandbox.
If you know what you're doing.

It was designed so people with little knowledge about Window or Sandboxie could install the program, start using it right away, and learn it as you go.
Wrong and misleading. "people with little knowledge about Window or Sandboxie" will never even understand what virtualization is, let alone use one such program.

I am going to talk about the title he used for the article, "Application isolation for experts", IMO, that's a bad title for an article on Sandboxie.
It's an accurate title. If there's a security program with a learning curve that's SBIE.

I wonder why he hasn't posted it at Wilder's, that would have been the natural thing for him to do. Perhaps, he doesn't want to read opinions about what he wrote on Sandboxie from the Sandboxie community/full time Sandboxie users.
Perhaps he has no time for users with a religious zeal on defending their app choice.

Granted, Sandboxie has a learning curve. But is not a difficult program to learn.

I said, "people with little knowledge about Windows or Sandboxie could install the program, start using it right away, and learn it as you go." If that dont apply to your case use, is because you didn't keep things simple with SBIE when you first started using it. Tzuk, the original developer of Sandboxie, made the program simple enough so you don't have to understand how Sandboxie works under the hood when you start using it. You can just install it and go, and learn it step by step.

You don't have to learn all about Sandboxie in one day.

I didnt. But I was able to start using it right away when I first installed it. And I been learning it ever since. You never stop learning SBIE. I been learning Sandboxie for almost 11 years now.

If you have a problem with Sanboxie, the Settings, Restrictions or why this doesn't run or this program cant connect to the internet, or why I cant do this, or why I get this error, is only because you have over complicated things. You tried to do too much without knowing what you are doing. When you change a setting from default, you have to know what you are doing. And learning what each setting does and how it affects programs that run in the sandbox takes time. This knowledge have to be earned. The simple fact that you installed Sandboxie, doesnt give you the knowledge, but this doesn't mean the program is hard to learn or to use. It just means that you have to put the time into learning the program.

Or perhaps he just doesn't want to read comments from people who actually use the program, from the people who know Sandboxie. He certainly doesnt know much about Sandboxie or have put the time into learning it, so, that makes sense (to me).

By the way, I known the author of the article for about 10 years, and I like him but that doesn't mean I have to agree with him about what he wrote about SBIE. He tested SBIE during XP and is doing it again now, more than a decade later, seriously, what does he know about SBIE, how well can he know SBIE?

I think perhaps some of you read the Sandboxie article I wrote for win10.guru a few months ago. Due to recent changes related to the program that have taken place recently: Sandboxie becoming freeware, and eventually, the source code will be released as open source, I was asked to update the article. This is the updated version.

Hi, I tried to download sandboxie but I can't find how, the link redirect to sophos that asks to fill a form and nothing happens, no download nor I have received a mail.

If really feels well to give trust and fill in information into a form to have no download, nor any information on why those data were requested, it kinda helps to form that trust bond for a potential user.

Hi Roy. You just fill the form, and the DL starts (no mail). In the picture below, see what it says for Home users. and see the rest of details in the picture.

Just about everything Sophos has done with Sandboxie is pretty dumb and for sure, as a customer, you can not trust it (bad liars), but as I understand it, this new form is a new US requirement for downloading SBIE.

Edit: Roy, I just tested downloading Sandboxie, the process is working fine.

Make sure to fill all blocks.

See what I wrote for Job role and Company in picture 1. After you submit the form, extra blocks show up, look at picture 2. Fill them, and after you click Submit, the DL starts.
