Win XP Security Updates still available centralised somewhere?

    Hi ,
this maybe the wrong Forum? (I'd appreciate a Link to elsewhere if so) for this but i came across a few other Posts in here about Updating XP and I thought I had better get a bit more Serious about this with the New threat in the Media etc. That update and the one for WannaCry are easy enough to find but I am wondering if I am missing others that I should have too?.

    Thanks,

XP is beyond its end of support. WannaCry was so serious that MS issued an update for it despite that, but that doesn't mean that they will issue any more updates for this unsupported OS.

There are very few XP updates. There is a link to KB4500331, the most recent one I've found, in the forum thread
Global virus fear prompts update for old Windows - BBC News

It is possible that one or even two others have been issued but XP cannot really be regarded as a secure OS.

There was an XP update being issued around about the time of the Wannacry outcry and this article contains a link to it https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/...crypt-attacks/

I do not know anywhere that maintains a list of all post-2014 XP updates other than those still kept in the MS update catalog. - Bree's Update catalog link is better than mine. Do remember to sort the search results into date order by clicking on that column header.

    Thanks Denis/Bree ,
I use Win10 on my main computer, XP is not my daily driver ( more like once a month... if that ) and I could likely disable all Inet connections from it altogether "just in case" , I was just trying to be through and not take chances....

WannaCry and BlueKeep fixes I have now (thx) just to be clear , I was wondering if I had missed anything significant.

Actually @Kbird, the aswer to your title question "Win XP Security Updates still available centralised somewhere?" is "Yes".

The central repository is the Microsoft Update Catalog. Search it for "XP update" then sort by 'Last Updated' to find the latest.

I would be very careful about where you download updates from I did a quick Google search for "unofficial windows xp updates" and three out of the five random sites returned that I clicked on were blocked by my DNS server that has a list of malicious or shady sites among other things, I narrowed the search to only return results that are a year old.

Your best bet is to follow Bree's advice or better yet follow your own advice and block XP at the router so that it can not get past your Lan and save yourself the headache of updating the thousand's of available updates.

Good advice , I downloaded both Wannacry and BlueKeep Updates from Microsoft's KB Webpages to be safe.......

I am surprised to see 1000 updates on Bree's link, but XP has been around along time so I guess I shouldn't be...... so it maybe better (easier) to disable the NIC in XP since I don't use XP for the Internet anyway , it's just for 1 piece of old software now and again which doesn't need Net access either.
