It was worth a shot. I'll let you know if I can find any other ideas.

Another trick that I use to make files available to a VM if no network access is available is to create an ISO image with the files that I need. If you have a utility to create an ISO image it only takes a minute to do. If you have the ADK installed you can also use OSCDIMG.EXE to whip up a quick ISO image. Then, simply connect it as an optical drive to the VM.
Hi there
@EdKiefer
If networking is not available --you can also use "Host only" networking --this will still link Host and guest but the guest will have no access to Internet or rest of your network.
I'm surprised though cut and paste fails as that's more a Windows host function and the clipboard of the VM is in "the shared global" memory space.
I have Vmware player (if you have VMWare workstation player is included too) so I'll try it out -- however i=I rarely if ever use player -- no pint if you have workstation !! but I'll try this out.
Cutting and pasting between Host and Guest should be always available
Note though I've noticed sometimes keyboard mappings can get partially hosed up in VMWare -- try re-installing VMWare tools and choose the enhanced keyboard options -- to re-install choose the repair Vmware tools option or uninstall vmware tools, re-boot the guest and re-install VMware tools -- again selected the enhanced keyboard option.

I have reinstalled VM tools many times as well as VM player, but I don't have enhanced keyboard enabled as I never had issues with KB. I have been using the player for yrs, since 2015 on a daily base. It is only when both guest and host was running 1903 that I noticed an issue, so around a few weeks max.
Oh, the version I am using is VMware-player-15.1.0-13591040.exe (that's from installer properties).
It actually helped me.
I have vmware workstation player 15.1
I think that the paste feature stopped working when I enabled file sharing hgfs.
I didn't find the first three isolation lines but, of course, the hgfs was there.
After I added these 3 lines I booted the CentOS 7 VM and paste worked.
thx
