VMWare fixed for 19H1 and 20H1 releases

Hi folks

posting this as a new thread since the title of the previous one refers to an older release of VMware which doesn't work and to avoid confusion.

An update is available from VMWare which fixes the ongoing problems of 19H1 and 20H1 Windows builds when either trying to install or when running with these builds as a HOST in particular freezes / GSOD's when trying to attach external devices to VM's created with these windows builds as HOST.

I installed that updated version of VMware Workstation Pro (version 15.1.0). So far, both running on a Windows 1903 Host and running a 1903 Guest is working flawlessly for me.

Phew, so happy about this. Hyper-V just wasn't too terribly much to my personal liking .

Hi there

I think there are a lot of happy VMWare users out there today -- I was struggling a bit with HYPER-V -- didn't do everything I wanted and in any case it only runs on Windows --with VMWare you can easily simply boot the same VM - without a single change - on a Windows or a Linux Host !! just use the same .vmx file and data.

I never got on with Virtual Box either - but that I suppose is a matter of choice.
