    Cannot enable CPU virtualization

I am trying to install an Android emulator to use a phone app on my PC.This requires me to enable CPU virtualization but I have been unable to get into BIOS setup to do this as I could in previous versions of Windows. The advanced options in the Recovery menu are no help. I have enabled the Hypervisor platform in Windows Features but the emulator program says virtualization is still not enabled. Have tried to get into BIOS on two laptops (one new) and one desktop but all three have latest Windows 10.

If Fast Startup is turned on in Windows 10 (as it is by default) then on most machines the screen at start up for entering the bios (usually by pressing F2) is skipped. This is because Fast Startup is a form of hibernation and the machine is not starting up from cold, it is resuming from the saved state.

In order to be able to enter the bios you need to do a full start up from cold. The easiest way to do this is to click the power button in Start and select Restart.

That helped me get into boot screen but unfortunately I still don't see anything that looks like an option for enabling virtualization. I ended up with much the same options as I get through the advanced options in the troubleshooting. According to various web posts there is suppposed to be a UEFA tab there but it it does not appear on any of my computers (all of which have updated home version of Windows 10).

If you mean you enabled Hyper-V then disable it and restart - it is incompatible.

If you can get into the bios, the options there have nothing to do with what OS you have installed. Each machine's bios will be different, you'll have to check the OEM's support for details. But the MSI in your profile specs should be something like this...

...The CPU features menu actually has settings in it. This is where you can enable or disable features such as Hyperthreading, Virtualization technology, and C1E support...

OK, so I managed to get into the setup for the oldest computer (10-years-old Dell desktop) where it turned out virtualization was enabled by default. Now the problem is that only one of the android emulators I have tried will recognize the app I need as compatible, if at all, and that one will not connect the app to the bracelet watch it is supposed to run. But that's another story
