best way to apply Windows 1809 update to VMs?

I have some VMS that I don't use very much. They were created at least a year ago, so I want to update them to 1809. What's the best way to do that? I will be using a bootable USB drive created with Rufus using an image created by Media Creation Tool.

    Thanks,

Do these VMs have a network connection? If so, make the ISO image created by the MCT available in a network share. Then in the VM connect to the share, mount the ISO then run the Setup.exe on the root of the drive to start the upgrade.

Most VMs allow an iso to be connected as a virtual drive. So then just run setup.exe from the virtual drive.
