    Hi, could you be more exact please?

    Are you unhappy that your background/wallpaper is black?

    What is the sequence? When you log on, for example, is your background black when the desktop appears, or is there a picture, which then changes to black (if so when).

    Should there be icons on your desktop, or none?

    Some additional info as to your question would be most helpful.

    Which Windows build are you using?
    Windows key + R, winver

    Hi there

    are you running this VM on VBOX / VMWARE or HYPER-V.
    If on VBOX / VMWare install VBOX additions or VMWare tools on the guest (the VM) .

    Now set your themes / windows background correctly.

    If you don't install the additions or tools the display can behave very strangely when switching from full screen to windowed mode and back again.

    What's the HOST system.

    If you aren't running a VM then this is a Windows problem - wrong section for the question.
