    bar on the right may be the one to maintain the virtual desktops, you can switch between desktops and move windows around between them and active desktop.
    PS; you might as well try the "mate" flavour with "munity" desktop if you prefer Unity style handling. It even brings HUD and global menus.
    I like the Gnome thing but might still check out mate (and possibly even KDE) once the release are out.

    Oh after a couple of restart 18.04 is keeping taskbar on desktop. So all is fine now.


    Edit - arrrggh - behaviour of task bar is different in basic to enhanced mode!

    If somebody else can check, this is something to feedback perhaps.
