    Bypass Gmail on log-on

Question: How do I bypass the gmail log-on / password in trying to access my laptop computer.
Background: I have not used my “when I’m travelling” lap top for a number of weeks. I change my Gmail password regularly, and can’t remember what it was when I last logged off from the laptop in question. Until I can move past the gmail log-on, it seems that I am unable to connect to the internet to allow gmail to access my current password. Seems like another one of the hidden joys of moving to Windows 10. Feels like Checkmate – help would be appreciated.

Hi PeterC99. Welcome to the TenForums @PeterC99

This is your Microsoft account and it allowed you to use your gmail name. This has nothing to do with changing email password on the google servers. Wish they had made everyone get a MS name.

So what password were you using at Microsoft with your gmail name?

If you can't remember the beauty of Windows 10 is you can go to account.microsoft.com and reset it. Since you don't know password you will have to go through reset process which maybe using your gmail email account or your cell number.

Click on the "I forgot my Password", Cortana will walk you through.
