Changed Microsoft Email Account Address, now locked out of xbox live.

Hi, i have a windows 10 account problem thats stopping me signing into xbox live.

i changed my windows 10 sign in email address on the microsoft account page, i wanted all my accounts to use gmail.

1st, i added my gmail account. Then i made my gmail account my default account email address

That created issues on onedrive, and i didnt want that headache, so i changed my sign in email address back to outlook and removed my gmail account from the accounts page. Now, when i go to settings - accounts, it still displays my gmail address, which is - im sure - why i cant login to xbox live on my pc. The following pic should read (username)@outlook.com, not (username)@gmail.com

    Any ideas?

    EDIT

when i try and create a local account, i get this issue...

    Hi Groggubus.

Did you first create a Microsoft account using your gmail user name?

In some sense I wish MS had never allowed people to get MS account names using their account names from all over. Creates a ton of confusion.

    The people, always the people.

and when I get started on mail and their product names. Takes fifteen minutes to explain the difference between Outlook (Office), Outlook.com and all its associated derivatives (Hotmail, MSN, Live) , Outlook the app or Windows 10 mail.

Yes but your Outlook email accounts counts as a Microsoft Account.

I think, and someone can correct me, you changed your system to use an MS account, somebody@gmail.com. There is no account in MS land with this name. They don't validate MS accounts on gmail servers, they let you use your gmail name (userid).

I think, and I said I think, you can't change to local as it can't validate the MS id to allow you to do this.

Saw some articles yesterday on this subject but closed them. First off, by any chance are you a Macrium Reflect user?

If you don't have a Image you need to create one. You need a Plan B

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

Once you have an Image in hand that you know how to restore from if something goes wrong you can reset back to this point.

Maybe another member knows a quick fix. I'll see what google has to say. I googled that error code in your second Image yesterday.
