How to rename a user's folder in c:\users?
While my request in the thread Is it advisable/useful to have a second (full) Administrator account? was successfully handled, I now have this situation which I consider appropriate to mention in a new thread.
Basically, I would like to rename the "new user" folder of the local Administrator account directory that was created in C:\users\. The account name is shown correctly elsewhere, the only exception being the specific directory (please note that the phrase "new user" is shown here for illustration purposes only).
I searched and found this thread, User Profile Folder - Change User Account Folder Name - Windows 7 Help Forums, but it applies to Windows 7. Would it be safe to try it in Windows 10? What precautions should I take?
I solved my own problem. Well, finally by reading this forum more carefully I found that the safest solution would be to create a new user account. Since the "problematic" account didn't have any significant data or programs in it, it was fairly easy to replace it with a new one which is named as I like it.
