How to rename a user's folder in c:\users?

While my request in the thread Is it advisable/useful to have a second (full) Administrator account? was successfully handled, I now have this situation which I consider appropriate to mention in a new thread.
Basically, I would like to rename the "new user" folder of the local Administrator account directory that was created in C:\users\. The account name is shown correctly elsewhere, the only exception being the specific directory (please note that the phrase "new user" is shown here for illustration purposes only).
I searched and found this thread, User Profile Folder - Change User Account Folder Name - Windows 7 Help Forums, but it applies to Windows 7. Would it be safe to try it in Windows 10? What precautions should I take?

I solved my own problem. Well, finally by reading this forum more carefully I found that the safest solution would be to create a new user account. Since the "problematic" account didn't have any significant data or programs in it, it was fairly easy to replace it with a new one which is named as I like it.

One of the links may be useful in the event you need to recover your user profile:
(for example you had made a lot of unique changes for the existing user profile before it was corrupted)

This is for Windows 7 and may work for windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...#1TC=windows-7

These are links for windows 10: (using the registry)

This may actually be what I am looking for, but I want to be sure. My son gave me his mostly unused W10 computer. I have tweaked it to make it more usable for me, but I really don't want his name associated with my account, just in case I need to create another account for him later. If I use either of the mentioned ways to change the user account name, will I have to redo all my tweaks yet again?

What I've done with used computers I've rehabbed was to be logged in as a User with Administrative rights, create a new User with the appropriate name and Administrative rights, reboot and log in as the newly-created User then delete the undesired one. At this point I can choose to save or delete that User's files. The new User does have to set the computer up as desired. It's a process but not necessarily hard to do. Also I have to keep in mind how/what the computer was named when first set up, that can also be changed, for my purposes in the rehabbing I try to use something like the computer make/model rather than a person's name.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, I would have to tweak it again. Ugh. I wonder if I'll remember what I did!
